Overview

At DevTech, our technical teams are passionate about delivering world class products to our clients and bringing cutting edge technology solutions to the government sector. We are looking for a passionate, driven, Web Developer to help deliver our vision through work on our Analytics, Data, Visualization, and Information Services 2.0 (ADVISE) contract with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Data Services team.  

The Data Services team's main purpose is to improve the usage of data and information at USAID, so that the Agency continues to ensure its development outcomes are supported by evidence. 

As part of DevTech team, you'll work with a group of talented engineers building and maintaining modern, dynamic, data-driven websites for our clients. You will be working with the latest languages, frameworks, DevOps processes, and other technical tools to build extraordinary web experiences that delight our users.

This position’s place of performance is Washington D.C. Remote work has been authorized for this position.     

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deliver code to support new features and enhancements in an agile environment 
  • Assistance in updating the content in WordPress for three web sites in both UAT and Production. 
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to create and publish graphics. 
  • Remediate any new Section 508 issues for customer reports to be uploaded on websites 
  • WordPress training for new staff. 
  • Performance metrics to include customer satisfaction survey and Google Analytics tracking and support. 
  • Routine touchpoints with websites’ product leads to review and prioritize work. 
  • Handle tickets to fix bugs and other defects to code at customer or WordPress Admin request. 
  • Update customer procedural documentation as needed. 

Qualifications

  • Passion for web development and solving complex problems. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer or information science. 
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience building, maintaining, and deploying web applications. 
  • Ability to manage and complete assigned tasks with a high level of independence 
  • Possess solid communication skills, ability to work across technical and management teams. 
  • Possess strong customer focus, ability to break down difficult or technical concepts for a non-technical audience. 
  • Proficiency in WordPress. 
  • Prior knowledge of 508 compliance preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Git, or comparable distributed version control system. 
  • Proficiency in Javascript, with experience using React for UI’s and building REST APIs is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in Drupal is a plus. 
  • Experience with data visualization technologies such as D3, Tableau, Power BI is a plus. 
  • Experience with DevOps, using AWS or a similar cloud hosting service is a plus. 
  • Experience with the React testing library and other testing tools is a plus. 

 

The candidate must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for the required U.S. government security clearance for this project.
