DevTech is a member of the Consortium for the Asia Resilient Cities (ARC) Project, together with BRAC and ICF, under the leadership of JSI Research and Training, Inc., working on a $25 million USAID-funded project aimed at making secondary cities in Asia more resilient and livable in the face of various shocks. ARC collaborates with cities — Khulna in Bangladesh, Rajkot in India, Biskhek in Kyrgyz Republic, and Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia — to promote sustainable urban growth, support resilient and low-carbon urban infrastructure, and integrate climate change and environmentally-conscious approaches.
ARC and Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement the work plan and build climate resilience in Rajkot.
John Snow India Private Limited (JSIPL) is a leading public health organization in India, dedicated to improving the health of individuals and communities across the country. JSIPL was established in 2013 with a vision to be a catalyst for strengthening public health initiatives in India to improve the lives of individuals and communities.
The Climate Resilience Partnership and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Local Consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing CSR strategies, linkages, and initiatives for the ARC Project in Rajkot. The consultant will collaborate with various stakeholders to integrate CSR practices into our project, ensuring alignment with the values and sustainability goals. The consultant should have strong communication skills and a deep understanding of CSR trends and best practices specific to Rajkot City.
Mainly the role of a Climate Resilience Partnership and CSR Consultant is to design and develop strategies and materials for CSR initiatives aligned with the ARC Project activities by identifying effective communication channels. Engage with stakeholders including Multinational Corporations (MNCs), Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Community-based organizations (CBOs), Civil society organizations, (CSOs), Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), Academic institutions, Healthcare providers for various ARC work plan activities which include; Rainwater harvesting, solid waste segregation, and composting, green cover, disaster preparedness (earthquakes, floods, cyclones, extreme heat, etc.), and health aspects, etc to foster transparency and manage expectations.
A Climate Resilience Partnership and CSR Consultant plays a crucial role in engaging stakeholders to promote the ARC project at state, national, and higher levels.
The Climate Resilience Partnership and CSR Consultant will be responsible for the following:
The Local Consultant is expected to work up to 60 days, over a period of 9 months after signature of the contract. The number of days are subject to change based on the scope of the assignment and client’s requirements.
Consultant will submit to DevTech Program Manager a monthly invoice along with the daily breakdown and description of activities. Consultants will receive monthly payments as per the agreed terms and conditions detailed in the contract.
The consultant will need to perform desk work as well as field visits as required. For any project-related travel, Project will cover all associated expenses, including rail travel (II AC), air tickets (economy class), taxi fares, and accommodation. All travel plans must receive prior approval from the City Project Officer. Project will cover all logistics-related expenses, including transportation, accommodation, and necessary materials for your consultancy assignments prior approval from the City Project Officer.
The selected consultant for this project must adhere to the reporting structure, which includes reporting to both the Project Lead and the Home Office Program Manager.
The primary reporting responsibility is to the Project Lead, who oversees project management and execution. Regular updates, progress reports, and findings must be provided to the Program Manager
Additionally, as part of our contractual obligations, the consultant is required to report periodically to the Home Office Program Manager, ensuring contractual commitments, payments and other obligations are met.
