DevTech is looking for a Data Engineer to work as an institutional contractor on its USAID Analytics, Data, Visualization, and Information Services 2.0 (ADVISE 2.0) project. ADVISE 2.0 staff comprise much of the USAID Data Services team, led by USAID’s Chief Data Officer (CDO) and situated in USAID’s Bureau for Management, Office of the Chief Information Officer (M/CIO). The Data Services team's main purpose is to improve the usage of data and information at USAID, so that the Agency continues to ensure its development outcomes are supported by evidence. The team’s work spans the “data lifecycle,” including planning, collection, cleaning, analysis, curation, reporting, and governance.

The Data Engineer will support a large data science environment. This environment is envisioned as an easy-to-access IT environment that empowers staff to address mission-critical questions. The environment will provide USAID with access to data, data science tools, and analytical results and visualizations in one virtual space to accelerate the Agency’s use of diverse data assets and cutting-edge technologies to support the Agency’s mission around the world.
The Data Engineer will provide support to the design and implementation of data integration efforts. The Data Engineer is primarily responsible for supporting the curation of datasets and building data pipelines created by nontechnical users (through self-service data preparation tools, for example), data scientists or even IT resources and “operationalizing” data delivery for production level deployments.
