Overview

DevTech is seeking a dynamic and experienced Facilitator/Trainer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs and facilitating workshops to a diverse range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for learning and development.

 

The Facilitator/Trainer will support activities across our company contributing to our portfolio of US Government programs, including programs funded by the United States Agency for International Develop and the Department of Labor’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs, among others. The Facilitator/Trainer will be embedded within DevTech’s MERL team and report to the MERL Director.

Responsibilities

  • Design and facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions and workshops, both in-person and virtually, ensuring that all participants are actively engaged and learning.
  • Engage a variety of stakeholders, such as donors, USG representatives, local government representatives, civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, etc., to define workshop goals and articulate problems.
  • Design and develop training and facilitation materials, including presentations, handouts, and other resources, tailored to the specific needs of the audience.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through participant feedback, assessments, and other metrics, and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Adapt content and delivery methods to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of participants.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in training and facilitation, and incorporate new ideas and methodologies into training programs.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in international relations or a related field with at least 5 years of experience in training, facilitation, or instructional design. Prior experience in international development and providing facilitation support to USG clients, preferred.
  • Experience working collaboratively and communicating effectively with donors, team members, and local and international organizations.
  • Demonstrate experience planning, guiding, and managing group events for local stakeholders and donors, including USG representatives.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage and inspire audiences of varying sizes and backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver effective training programs and workshops, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and delivery methods.
  • Excellent media applications, questioning, conflict resolution, and group management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Certification in training, facilitation, or related field (e.g., CPLP, CPTM) preferred.
