Overview

We are looking for an experienced and innovative Solution Architect to design and help implement systems architecture that will meet our client’s business needs. The team develops applications and website products that use data and visualizations designed to improve awareness, availability, access, and capacity to transform the way our client collects, analyzes, and uses data to ensure development outcomes are supported by evidence. The Solution Architect will join a strong team of dedicated IT specialists in the design, development, and deployment of various solutions with significant data repositories.

The Solution Architect’s responsibilities include gathering technical requirements, NFRs, and functional specifications, assessing the current software systems in place in order to identify areas in need of improvement, and guiding development teams. You should also be able to regularly update management on any developments in systems architecture projects.

Responsibilities

  • Building and integrating data information systems to meet the company’s needs.
  • Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve and enhance it.
  • Resolving technical problems as they arise.
  • Providing supervision and guidance to other technical teams.
  • Continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed.
  • Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented.
  • Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have.
  • Providing updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs, and budgets.
  • Follow company and client DevSecOps guidelines to integrate and deploy changes to the solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • At least five years of demonstrable experience in engineering and systems architecture design.
  • Strong technology and design pattern knowledge.
  • At least four years of recent demonstrated design experience with at least two of the following four layers or services: 1) Presentation layer APIs, 2) Integration/business logic layer APIs, 3) Data layer APIs, and 4) AWS or Azure Cloud Services.
  • In-depth understanding of modern coding languages (Node.js, Java, Python, etc.).
  • Sound knowledge of various operating systems and relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experienced in working with InfoSec requirements and presenting to technical review boards.
  • Possesses sufficient knowledge to design deployment infrastructure for Micro-service applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact well with key stakeholders, business analysts, and other architects on solution designs, and participate in status briefings as needed
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • The candidate must have solid teamwork synergy, capacity to inspire and motivate other technical staff.
  • Ability to work independently; motivated and responsible self-starter.

 

The candidate must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for the required U.S. government security clearance for this project.
